Can't raise multiplier

Thread Starter
Hi all!

I'm a newbie overclocker and I want to ask that why the multiplier won't go up until x18.5? I set it to x21.0 and when I opened CPU-Z it's still showing x18.5. I restarted my PC and went in the BIOS again and it's showing x21.0. This happened after I upgrade my BIOS version to M5A88-V-EVO BIOS 1202 http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&s=24&m=M5A88-V%20EVO&os=30&ft=3&f_name=M5A88-V-EVO-ASUS-1202.zip#M5A88-V-EVO-ASUS-1202.zip . Before this, the CPU-Z was showing up x21.0, would anyone help me to fix the BIOS or downgrade it to a lower version? Thanks.

Regards,
Kelvin♫

Can you give us more details by inputting your system specs in your profile page? Hit "profile" at the top and scroll all the way to the bottom. Hit "create a new rig" and then set your sig to show it smile.gif

Thanks!

All FX-processors are unlockable.

I set the first one (not sure the name, it contains overclocking) to Manual, and then I enabled Turbo Boost, below Turbo Boost I typed in 21 and it becomes x21.0 automatically. The problem is showed in the CPU-Z but it shows x21.0 in the BIOS no matter how many times I go in the BIOS. The number still remained x21.0 instead of the CPU-Z. This happens after I update the BIOS, should I download the 0402 version and flash it again?

Hi,

No, my M5A88-V EVO does not have UEFI BIOS but I choose it because it is the most stable motherboard in the M5A series. Yea, my settings is the same as you highlighted except the AMD Turbo CORE Technology, if I Disabled it the CPU Ratio will not come out.

To all: I've disabled the 'Cool N Quiet' technology as it will lower the multiplier when idle.

Oh sorry, I went to enable the AMD Turbo CORE Technology and set the Turbo CORE Ratio, ahh!!! Btw, it works in the 0402 version BIOS. Anyway, thanks truckerguy. biggrin.gif
