need help choosing psu

hi ocn

i have a friend who asked me to choose a psu for is rig

i like corsair but i dont know which to choose been ax850 and hx1050 since the price difference is 4€

he wants a psu relatively silent whith fanless mode...

also can some one tell if and when is there going to be a ax850i or a hx1000i or ax1000i i really think the features of the ax1200i are awesome and helfull but he doesnt need that much power

4 x ddr3 memory sticks
3 x gtx 680 and he will probably buy another one
3 hdd 7200rpm
1 dvd+rw drive
1 ssd
6 fans with fan controller

For three 680's a good 850-900 watt PSU would do quite well, but if he's going to add a fourth for sure then the system would need a 1000 - 1100 watt PSU.

There's no point in me recommending a PSU that isn't available there wink.gif

Not much choice other than XFX or Corsair in the ~800W and above bracket. What's up with everything being labelled as 2 year warranty?

true... my idea is that in short time every psu will be digital thats why i think it would be a good choise

the store gives you two years warenty than, the warrenty extendes to the products ...

corsair was 7 years of warranty but if you pass the first 2 you have to contact directly corsair ... i dont really know why probably they dont want to be annoyed with clients problems for that long tongue.gif
