I thought I would chime in also:
1) The colors are very vibrant. Even though this display is TN and has an inferior resolution, it is almost on par with the 27" Apple Cinema Display in terms of image quality. The screen is semi-glossy, but not enough to distract from anything. The image blows Samsung's less expensive 27" 1080p monitors out of the water.
2) I hope that you have GTX 670 or 680 to really push your games to 100fps+ at 1080p...otherwise you will not get the full benefit of the monitor. If you play multi-player games where your reaction times are crucial, your scores will skyrocket.
You will not only enjoy the 120hz for gaming, but also everyday computing. Just the act of dragging windows around feels amazing...the on-screen GUI feels so fluid now that it feels like the computer is reading your mind

Try this with a wired mouse, wireless mice introduce a bit of lag that ruins this. Also this monitor is GREAT for video playback. There is a lot less tearing than with any other monitor that I've owned.
When you get the monitor, be sure to go into the OSD and set the response time to "Fastest".
A thing to consider is that a common flaw of these monitors is a bit of minor backlight bleed from the bottom-right corner, which is caused by screw or some such that is over-tightened. I saw someone post a fix elsewhere a few months ago, but it involved opening up the monitor and I didn't want void my warranty. Since the monitor is so awesome in all other respects, I have learned to mentally ignore this minor flaw.
I can truly say that the S27A950D is one of my best computing purchases ever. You should get it
