For example an FPS game could detect swearing and nearby allied NPCs would respond in some way (such as rushing to heal you or providing covering fire). There could be a lot of creative (and yet simple) ways to implement this depending on the genre. smile.gif

I think that is really awesome and actually adds to the realism. If you sit there and swear at a ref in real life you will get in trouble at some point. I will have to learn to control myself if they ever add this to the NHL games.

If this were for online games, they'd need a full team to update the slang people come up with 24/7 to overcome the electronic ears. Also, what about childish phrases that contain no cursing? Such as 'I slept with your mother' to reference another post. If they want that to be effective, it has to be more than just a program listening for specific words because there are so many ways to say the same thing. Hell, even talking like Yoda could get past simple programs that look for specific phrases tongue.gif All in all, this would be good and interesting.
