Error with CPUZ and HWMonitorng..

Thread Starter
So I have been searching for a fix for this for a little bit and haven't been able to find one. I know there were other threads put up around OCN about this but they all seem like they just fizzled out. I also googled about it and found some things that didn't help.

So the problem is this: I opened CPUZ once and it worked fine, then when I closed it and opened it again I get a pop up that says "The error code 0x102 (258) occured during parsing." and when I click okay nothing shows up. Everything is grayed out on CPUZ and it doesn't detect anything. With HWMonitoring it will start up but it doesn't read any of my hardware. The only thing that shows up is "TED-PC" (and if you haven't figured it out my name is Ted.) The HWmonitoring doesn't give me any error code or anything. It just doesn't read anything.

Does Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I know that a lot of people seemed to have this problem, but again, I didn't find any solutions to the problem from them.

Here is a screen shot of what happens when I open HWmonitor and when I open CPU Z. The error with the CPUZ comes up and then when I click okay that is what my CPUZ looks like.

I guess no one has a fix for it.. It kind of seems like this is what happens in every thread that addresses this issue... It really sucks cause CPUZ and HWmonitoring are the only programs that I know of that I can use for checking all that stuff. especially for overclocking..

I have no idea why but after I restarted my computer cpu-z and hwmonitor are working fine again. Maybe try a restart and see how that goes?

What version of CPU-Z are you using? I assume the latest?

I have done that. Have you tried to open it up again after you opened it the first time? cause sometimes, when I first opened it, it worked fine. Then when I tried to open it again it didn't work anymore.

Ive got a problem with cpuz and hwmonitor whenever i try to open it my computer reboots and ive tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but it still doesnt work. I did overclock my gpu but then i reset it to stock and then it worked but a few days later when i tried to open cpuz it rebooted even at stock. i cant figure this out or how to fix it please help!

It does work all of the time for me now. I did update windows and my drivers as well as clearing cmos once sometime over the past few days so that may have solved the issue for me. Can't be sure though since I don't remember when I did what and when cpu-z/hwmonitor started to work again. Maybe try updating everything and trying again?

I've just recently started getting problems with CPUZ myself. I was able to run CPUZ last week but for some reason today whenever I run CPUZ my screen will go blank (first it was all black, and now all white), thus forcing me to hard reset my computer. I have tried both old versions of CPUZ and the latest version and they all seem to crash my computer. Any help would be appreciated.
