That could be many things, not only the led. It could be the same led with different attenuation.

Might this make the jitter of my DA 3G on my Icemat disappear? What pad are you using it on?

Possible, but I don't think that's the case. The "Newer" LED is a lot stronger than previous designs.

I also have my sources wink.gif

i still use the sensor in my kinzuadder, and also sold one with red-LED too, but had no luck getting satisfying performance with red LED in the DA3G rev.3 and abyssus.

I got high tracking rates, it's weird u couln't get the same on the abyssus. Maybe cause Abyssus could not have firmware updates and u had the faulty firmware with the good LED and the problems were still there.

Yeah it seems to be an issue of all the ADNS-3090 sensors (and the ones sharing the same architecture).

But only on glass surfaces like the ice mat?
I was considering buying one, but I didn't because you don't get one easily.

I stuck to my destructor till now.

Icemat seems to make troubles for some of the opticals but it's still a great pad. I bought countless pads including the Destructor, which I bought upon release. It wore down in a matter of weeks and got sticky in the middle, which is when I bought a black Icemat (Steelseries I-2). It's still my main mousepad and it's as good as in day 1 and consistency and low static friction (stickiness) is something I want most in an mousepad and the Icemat really delivers that.

Never bought anything else and probably never will until some company releases a bigger/better glass pad that is readily available.
