Prime95 has passed 24 h.

  • 4.7 GHz, Offset +0.100 V (load GPU-Z fluctuation 1.408 - 1.424 V), LLC High
  • ALL speed stepping features enabled (idle CPU-Z fluctuation 0.992 - 1.040 V)

As I have learned today the EVGA GTX 660 Ti doesn't have a black and white cooler design. So I have ordered the EVGA GTX 670 instead and with that component the "light version" of my Chinook build will be complete. Photos will be posted...

Glad to see the Phanteks will fit that board and case... I am about to order one myself.

Good looking build sir.

Thanks, it was fun to build but I have become bored with it pretty quickly. I assume I didn't like the rubber feet which are basically the same as the rubber handle bars. The case wobbles not too much but it seemed unstable. By luck I hadn't sold my good old Fortress FT01 and I have moved back to it. I have sold the Prodigy on ebay and I hope it makes somebody else happy now.

Anyway the Phanteks PE is a great fit for the case. They almost seem to be designed for each other. Be prepared to remove the mainboard and ODD tray for the installation though! (With some skill and patience you can keep the ODD tray in there but it will be easier to have it removed.)

Were there any issues with the phanteks backplate and the p8z77-i? Most backplates it seems squish some components on the back of the p8z77-i.

why use the outer phantek in the back? asthetics? i'm wondering if that hinders performance at all, as opposed to using it as intended, and keeping the stock case fan for exhaust

Yes, asthetics. Performance was pretty good anyway so I did not bother with testing other setups.

was there space to populate the fan slot directly above the phanteks? and did the phanteks' fan bracket touch your backplate?
