Is water-cooling worth it? I'm new to water-cooling.

Thread Starter
I've ordered an i7 3930k, RIVE motherboard, 4x GTX 680's 4gb a piece and i'm wondering if water-cooling is worth it performance wise. If you could tell me everything I would need and the de-facto loops and everything I would appreciate it.

To get the most out of a 3930k I would recommend it...these puppies run pretty warm even when at stock without some pretty good cooling

It's pretty addicting. I've watercooled 3 out of 4 of my rigs. The 4th one is prepped but I've been to busy to tackle it.

With 4x GTX 680's I would definitely be looking into water cooling as they will be really loud running on air. Naturally water cooling will also let you push up the clock's on both the cards and the CPU. With that much stuff to cool you will need a really beefy cooling loop. I'm thinking something like a Two thick 360 rads as a minimum and a laing d5 for pumping.

Obviously you have some cash. Go get a CaseLabs case and go to town. Your setup deserves water and a case worthy to hold it. thumb.gif

Doubt water cooling is for someone with a $2000 budget or under, but it seems like you don't care about a PC budget if you are going x4 680s. May as well go all out with WC.
