looks good, to me aslong the proccessor is good to run 2x 7970's at max OC of 4.5ghz+ with GPU utilization of atleast 80+% then i'd be happy biggrin.gif though a 8120 would be better suited in terms of 8 "core" price/performance than a 8150 redface.gif

Not really a surprise that an FX8150 + 2x7970's can handle any current game @ 1080p.

that's what im looking for. well, your charts prove that 8150 @ stock can handle 2 high end GPUs setup. we are also aware that FX 8150 cannot beat 2500k performance on gaming and that's given already but your tests only shows how 8150 will perform on multi graphic setup. im subbing on this for more test benches. good job op.

I don't get it, my 840 x4 or my 955 BE could do this, but I don't use them to game. The fact of the matter is, that in some games AMD's can't compete, like in Skyrim and ARMA (I had problems with FPS but now I'm golden with the same GPU) it's a niche CPU, and the area it was made for it's not even king since power is a concern in the server arena, and it loses big time. That's why I'm waiting for the next gen AM3's.

I'm just really excited to test this at 1440p, but I don't get my Yamakasi Catleap until late September. I didn't make this to try and persuade people to get an 8150. The only FX CPU I will recommend is a 4170 for a budget build.

And as far as nextgen AM3+, I won't be getting it. Why? Because single core performance won't change whereas multicore will go up by 10-15%

10-15% multicore increase to me isn't worth $250 as my 8150 is fine with multicore, but if single core performance goes up by 10-15% then I'll reconsider...

if Vis does good overall from BD in single and multi i'd get Vis atleast the power draw will be under control somewhat due to the mesh used which is my main concern.. power draw...redface.gif

I believe that the major improvements will be process refinements, bug fixes ( there were many problems with bulldozer ) and ipc increase, and if they oc better then I will definitely be getting one for my Crosshair V.

Sounds like a bottleneck. My GTX 580 Superclocked got about -20 fps average on dirt 3 at that resolution, and i was using a phenom ii x4 840 3.2ghz quad core... and i got 70 fps average on crysis 2 with everything maxed out. I wonder why. 7970>580? or is that a lie. :O
