Eh..I bet most people on here ignore that :lachen.gif:
Most say it's OK up to 80..but I'm skeptical of that.

OP...I hope you realize this is not the information you were looking for, AMD 965 tjmax is 62C, the 3570k is 105C (according to intel). This guy likes to twist info to make ivy bridge look bad, not sure why its very strange. He is quoting Tcase temps which are not what most people monitor, if you are using core temp, real temp, etc 105C is the number. I know its high coming from AMD (just switched from the 965 myself) took some adjustment mentally lol.

TjMax is 105C, Tcase is 72C (which is the temp of the IHS, not the silicon/cores themselves). Keep it below 90C and you should be fine.

Thread Starter
I overclocked it to 3.8GHz and my temps only go up to 45-52C when playing The Witcher 2 on high settings at 1080p. My initial worries have been quelled!!!

I'm thinking I'll push it to 4GHz and call it a day.

thumb.gif Im at 4.2 and see about the same, seems to be the sweet spot (i guess at least on mine). 4.0 is NOOOOO problem for these lil guys!

4.5 seems to be the sweet spot for most 3570k. Heat and voltages are all wtihin proper limits and most seem to be able to hit it with relative ease.

I need to try that, still getting over AMDitis with temps lol.
30-35C idle....60-65C in normal usage load...and don't go over 80-90C in stress test...you'll be fine. Most can OC to 4.0-4.2 with stock voltage and 4.4-4.6 with some minor tweaking...anything above usually starts to increase temps a little too much for optimum comfort...but depends on your chip.

As long as under load your CPU doesn't reach the 90s, you're CPU is in great shape.
