Critique my $2000 gaming build.

Thread Starter
First of all, there ought to be a sub forum for build suggestions/advice.

Parts list here.

I want to keep the build ~$2000 +/- $100. The only thing that is currently nagging me is the SSD. I'm not sure If the Vertex 4 is the best value for money performance SDD

Any help would be appreciated, for the SSD or any other part.

Also, I'm buying from Australia.

Primarily from this store, although scorptec would be an alternative

hmm it seems like a $1400 build is costing you $2000 somethings wrong...

Edit: oops, didnt see the monitor. Since u are paying tax and you are paying a lot more than usual i guess its good enough. I personally rather game on 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 than a 2560x1440 because thats gonna be a lot more demanding on the 670.. By the way i bet you anything people will suggest a smaller power supply, but just get 750w in case of a future sli for that monitor. Seems like a nice build.

i suggest a corsair power supply though, cheaper and more reliable, 5 yr warranty smile.gif

also this is -$70 but its a green drive. i have a green drive myself and it works great smile.gif

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17282

dont get the thermal paste the 212 comes with some $8 isnt worth it for 1-2 c imo.

since u are getting a hyper evo, it might not fit with those big heatsinks so get this instead:

It never hurts to save money my friend.

I think everything is a bit more expensive in Australia; it all comes in through stores that mark up the prices and I'm sure tax has no small involvement in the matter.

Actually... here it is... Swapped mobo, ram, HDD, SSD.
Minus $10 total price of the cost since the galaxy 670 could goto cart "oreorder" mode.

used the ASUS z77 sabertooth... corsair SSD since you will be using it as a boot ssd and raw performance wont matter too much in this scenario.
Used a baracuda HDD since it does the job really good.
Ram is vengence, good reliable ram.
Powersupply, any decent brand with 750w will do you absolutely great. No need to pay extra for nothing.

ADDED an acer 27" LED monitor, but didnt know weather u wanted the other monitor specifically or not.
This the price with monitor $1583

-

oops forgot the mobo.... added $259 brings it to $1842
