From what I've read I'm pretty confident you know what you're doing. Kudos to you again: if I had to mount that many blocks and sweat the TIM application I'd be a worrying wreck. I don't like the mounting system on the Raystorm blocks for example and it seems I get a different TIM spread every time, although the full copper Raystorm seems the most consistent for me probably because of the solid construction.

I really liked IX but with my raystorm the mounts where horrible. I had air pockets both times the second one was worse than the first. I can't wait to get a different block and can't wait to see your numbers thanks for doing all this I know it isn't easy.

MX2 - 7/16 Done - on to number 8 now. 16 is not a typo - I had a different jetplate to test. Really it's 17, I have a secret block to test at the end also.

IX - 4/15 done, waiting on MX2 to complete before restarting, one of the chips had bad data (i.e. worse than MX2) so that will need to be redone again.

If there are air pockets then it wasn't tightened down far enough. If the reflow isn't uniform then it maybe too tight. It's seems more finicky on socket 2011 maybe because the IHS is so large. I thought I knew IX pretty well, but it took me a while to get reliable data and know how to interpret the bad data. Now I'm confident of what I was doing but it took about 15 mounts to get there. Hopefully I can save people the pain by figuring a fool proof method out for each block smile.gif

Yeah that was the problem with the raystorm I would look at the mount before but no matter what, the mount was loop sided before reflow the part where the IX sits was highe on that side. And the thumb screws are off to began with no matter if I overtighen on side or what it just way off. When you look at the IX from the side before reflow and the block mounted are the blocks sitting level ?
