Seriously - it's annoying because even the option in the bios to ignore it doesn't seem to stop it. Having done all of my block testing on an R4E I think I'm pretty well versed in that throttling now and the fan underneath is pretty necessary for a non watercooled board. I still need to mod my motherboard tray to fit some VRM heatsinks on there for my workstation.

Does anyone know where to buy? That CPU380i?

I wouldn't say the MIPS motherboard blocks are ugly, they are understated and plain which can be a good thing. Their CPU block I actually really like the look of. But beauty is a personal thing.

lachen.gif Weird how I came across this post. I should do a review on that thing, no one seems to buy it.

It might be worth mentioning that derick's build is sponsored by MIPS rolleyes.gif having said that I've never heard anything but praise for MIPS's quality. The XSPC block is a bargain though. I would check out derick's build log if you want to see a full SR2 board with MIPS all over it.

It would only go with my Koolance CPU380i cus it's plain. For me it's the Koolance, than the XSPC for a RIVE block.
Still worried about the nickel plating. Koolance's website said I can't use use a silver coil. "No silver with nickel"
The only place I found the CPU380i on the Koolance website. Will this be sold out in 8 months too??

Maybe you should call Koolance and see what the deal is, hard to imagine they've stopped production forever. IB-E won't be here for a while.

I realy did tought that it could be Koolance, belive me or not. smile.gif anyway is there any progress on the Koolance PMP-500 review? The pump looks to be a DDC and very sleek looking. Hope it's good @ 6V. @Neo Zuko, the MIPS is for me the best looking block for me. It just a matter of personal taste wheder you like it or not. smile.gif

It's called first impression vs final analysis! Ok I can be flickle. Perhaps Stern is right as understated can blend in a bit so won't even matter. But that doesn't make it pretty necessarily. Ha ha stone tablets do not have an edit button!! Oh and I emailed Koolance they told me they're done with the RIVE block and I should go to eBay, and basically told to expect any motherboard block to not last longer in production. Additionally they flat out said no so kill coil and use our fluid products.

Anyway I promise I will try to avoid RIVE talk in CPU block threads.

Nearly every manufacturer will only warranty products if you use their fluids. Basically warranties are pretty much worthless.
