I have one on my SB-E, works really well FWIW. Nice large surface area for the LGA2011. I expect it to come somewhere near the upper half of the pack. (And I'm the one and only voter for it in the poll) biggrin.gif

those blocks are all sexy, with the exceptions of EK blocks, heatkiller and the MIPS one. those are ultra sexay and according to the results, i might just sell my raystorm and get the blocks i listed, with the exception of the HF. wish they still sell those thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Now I am not a new to water cooling but man this guide is amazing. Bookmarked, Subbed, and flagged!

Excellent work so far and +Rep for you! Keep it up and I look forward to the results!

(Just trying to set a new tone on this thread after what the last few pages had in store. ;-))

Thanks for the support guys - seeing excitement and positive attitudes keeps me motivated to get this done ASAP. It's been way more work than I expected (I started off planning to do 5-8 blocks on IX only) and I completely understand why Martin retired. I'm amazed he kept doing it for as long as he did!

I hope I didn't go off the deep end with that reply rolleyes.gif

Pretty much this spot on... many know how long it takes and how life can get in the way. This is certainly a large undertaking for someone that doesn't do this thing full-time. I would much rather get results later on knowing that you were doing it for the love of doing it. You can only do so much and I am glad you have your priorities set right (family, friends, work, etc).

Love everything that I have seen so far and am excited for the results. Take your time. +rep smile.gif

I don't understand the way some people think. Not once has it crossed my mind to unsubscribe because it takes so long to get results: I think that's to be expected when you have multiple data points with loads of variables you have to account for. Besides, I'm pretty sure stren has apologized a few times in the thread already and explained the reason(s) why it is taking longer than he thought it would.

One option would have been to not post the thread until he had the results ready. Maybe that would have been better in the eyes of the impatient brat who posted a long, trollish comment about how it takes a weekend to run over a dozen of WC blocks. Now the thread has more time to get subscribers, so hopefully more people can see the results when they're out. If I were doing a test like this, spending a huge amount of my own money and time to make the test happen, and someone came to post a comment like that... I'd feel furious and pretty insulted.

Personally, I'm beyond grateful to stren for taking the time (and money) to test all these blocks, process the results and share them with us, which is no small task. If I could help in any way, I would. But honestly, I don't think a wc-noob student can really do much for a dude who works 80h/week rolleyes.gif

Take all the time you can, considering that some of the sponsors probably like to put some pressure on you, and make the results worth the wait! thumb.gif

I wonder how different this post would have looked had I not remembered that OCN doesn't tolerate profanity...
