So i decided to pull the trigger on a pot for mems, being that IVB is so boss on mem oc. For a little more than $110 I ordered the new SF3D Triple Point pot from SF3d and ryba. When I first placed the order, ryba told me that they were currently out but would be making more the following week. On top of that week was an additional ~3 weeks for shipping. Granted, I opted for the cheaper shipping option instead of the EMS express, and the pot had o make its way across several European countries and the Atlantic Ocean before arriving here in northern Florida. Anyways, it was well worth the wait because this thing looks like a beast!
The inside looks nice. Although it's a simple design, it's well machined and very clean. What sold me on this pot was the integration of the custom heat spreaders.. It will take a little work to prep the DIMMs for subzero and TIM up the ICs, but once the sticks are prepped, i can just keep the spreaders on there even if running on air. It comes with 4 heatspreader plates, 2 plates per DIMM, one on each side of the DIMM. I may order a second set so my PSC kit and BBSE kit will both be prepped with the heatspreaders at all times.
Also included in the box was a VERY nice serving of insulation foams. It included two different types, both of them are of very high quality. The thicker one on the left is high quality neoprene rubber. The thinner one on the right is similar, but something i've never quite seen before. On one side it feels rough, almost like a rubber/cloth felling and texture.. the other side is very smooth, non-porous armacell type finish. This thin stuff looks perfect for wrapping the pot, maybe even the DIMMs if I were to cut it..
Ive tested out many types of insulation foams (from home depot, kingpin, HVAC suppliers) and these are both the highest quality ive ever seen. Two thumbs up just on the foam alone
I think I'll write a review with more info, details, specs after i freeze some mems! ...and of course post the results
