Gasp!  Blasphemy!  smile.gif  Although, if he has zero interest in overclocking, then maybe he's right.  Still, it is noticeably faster and more powerful than any of the i3 series CPUs.  If that sounds enticing, then the plain 3570 would be good too.  It's just not nearly as overclockable.

Oh, then maybe the plain 3570 would be better, especially in comparison to the i3-2120.  I mean, the i3 series is a dual-core line of Sandy Bridge CPUs with HyperThreading while the i5-3570 is a true quad core from Ivy Bridge which is the latest generation from Intel.  Plus, he's looking at a motherboard that natively supports Ivy Bridge, so it would be a very nice match.  The i3-2120 would be a bit puny on it.  hehe

You're welcome.

Perhaps he'll be able to get the 3570K, a good aftermarket cooler, and a slightly better motherboard.  Although, all of these P8Z77 motherboards are all equally overclockable for air cooling!

Plus, he'll also be able to get a solid state drive which will allow the CPU to shine.
