You naysayers are quite welcome to not use programs to free up memory. SOmebody who is actually short of RAM might want to try them though.
The comments about these programs not knowing what programs are unnecessary are of course completely ridiculous. In the case of Gamebooster it shuts down all of the update services and that sort of garbage that is not only using a bit of RAM, they are also hogging internet bandwidth. These days the internet bandwidth whores are the only reason I use Gamebooster, and I can assure you that it works great for this.

In any case if it is safe to page out, it'll get paged out... so that ties in with the first bit in that if it CANT be paged out then it is necessary. All these programs do is FORCE memory to be paged out, which just gets paged back in straight away anyway.
