My 3570K Idle temps are way too high?

Thread Starter
Hey guys! I know we are all sick of seeing the same threads about said processor being hot but here we go again. Well I just finished installing my rig today and one idle core temps are at around 48 while the lowest is around 35. That is a huge difference. Currently I am running a corsair H80 with two AP14s in Push-Pull. There has to be something wrong here. Help!

beat me to it. Remount, and really spread that thermal paste around. One core usually runs hotter then the rest, mine is core 3, but that seems really high. What's your ambient temps? And are these on stock clocks?

it could be...you never know...your stock cpu cooler should be idling in 35-40c range...try putting that on and see. Also what software are u using to monitor the temps?

When you mount the block, tighten the thumbscrews by hand firmly, then use a flathead to tighten them a little bit more. You want it tight, but not TOO tight

I would recommend putting on the stock cooler and testing that...I know it is a pain...but you will find out if it is the chip or the h80 cooler.
