Picked up some new fans today, referencing this fan study:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1274407/fans-the-most-complete-and-comprehensive-array-of-tests-and-benchmarks
they received a 10.06 noise to cooling rating, (@ 60db, my tower now sounds like a turbine)

as i had mentioned earlier, i had an idea for another UV LED project... lets start with that:
solid block of acrylic:

measure

pilot

jjmr6c.jpg

drill

18kx35.jpg

remove protective covering

15q98ax.jpg

stole one of the unused radiator mounts

2w4cz9w.jpg

superglue leds into holes

2lm8741.jpg

while those are drying, might as well do something with this uv paint

ok back to the acrylic... figure out the wiring scheme, prep for soldering

1h9py1.jpg

soldered in paralell

2jba69z.jpg

TEST!

33c916w.jpg

finish wire to 4pin connector

xbwpl3.jpg

going to have to flip the case in a second... lets make sure this is closed.

ipz59x.jpg

remove original 2000rpm fans.

2afk780.jpg

...did not think this through thoroughly.. that bolt is never going to reach..

23k3neu.jpg

huh, what if...

2gwwebm.jpg

success!

this one was such a pain, ended up drilling the top hole out and sliding a screwdriver through.

eqatkn.jpg

well.. it looks like it can cool

2itsgox.jpg

light cube fits here

2rmuzcl.jpg

cant have too many fans... old rad fan on bottom of case

Hey, those kaze fans are sleeve bearing. You do not want them in that position, they will make more noise and last considerably shorter. See this for instance.

Shure SRH 750DJ cans

yus, trying to find solutions for the bearing problem now. Really don't want to mount the rad outside of the case, Nowhere in the case that i could mount it horizontal though.. maybe if i remove the side fan? or remove the harddrive bays...

I was just thinking that little Rad didnt need all that much fan to perform at peak..a couple of these maybe..Great performer for the price IMO

Your probably right, saw very little difference in temperature with the stock fans vs these.... hmm i guess i could just throw them somewhere else in the case and go back the original ones.
