looks good. But why are you using an h67 motherboard with an overclockable processor? You should get p67, so you can overclock your processor, and get a cpu cooler, preferably the noctua d14. A cpu cooler will last you a long time, and so will the case, sound card, and power supply, so you should consider spending extra money on those. You can get a 550 watt power supply with that build, maybe lower, the seasonic x560 is the best, but any decent 550w power supply will be ok, you don't need that much wattage. Also, why do you need an extra fan? The i5 3570k is the newest cpu, it's the fastest also, so you should get that one instead of the 2500k, the older, slower, and more power hungry relative. You can use an old hard drive and an old operating system, but windows 7 is best, and an ssd ($100 for mushkin chronos 120gb) will give you better performance. Also, make sure that the ram is dual channel, not triple channel.

In that case, it really comes down to preference.

Well, if you're a gamer, you should get a headset. Here, a headset is the "real" ones which have earcups, and headphones are the crappy ones which aren't any good, and always fall out biggrin.gif

Even as a gamer, I regretted getting a headset before, I quickly change from a headset to headphones and a separate mic. The audio quality is very very different. I went from a Roccat Kave to a Grado SR80i + Zalman Mic.

yes. headsets have bad sound quality for what they cost. the surround sound that many of them have can be used with regular headphones, surround sound is controlled by the soundcard. the best headphones for gaming are the audio technica ath-ad700 . they have the widest soundstage, which is what you want for gaming.

I've asked on other forums and i decided to get the i5 3570k and i'll wait for the 660 Ti to come out. I was thinking about getting a cooler (CM Hyper 212 Plus) but my budget is tight. I've heard it's a good idea to add 100w to the minimal w. I can't get a SSD because of my budget. Triple channel, got that.

Please recommend me a motherboard. I'm clueless. Preferably Asus, under the 140$. Double SLI support would be nice for later. I also need an old PCI slot for the sound card. Also, RAM recommendation would be nice.

Please stop the headset/headphone discussion, it's mindless.

I remember seeing the screenshot of your build and I dunno where you'll be buying from, so I'm just basing prices from Newegg. If you have a website you could give us to check for your local purchases then that might be better, anyway on to the recommendation.

I agree with stuffstuffa though regarding the PSU, but since you're asking for a motherboard that supports SLI, on that assume that you would be running dual GPUs in the future then you definitely will need at least 650w.

If you're overclocking then the Hyper 212+ is a great budget cooler.

Now, a motherboard for under $140, then you definitely can't go wrong with Asrock. Don't doubt the brand, the boards they've introduce in the last few years are amazing performers.

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

But if you really want Asus, then you can go with this:

ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

And for RAM:

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

Wow, I'm learning some interesting things in this thread as well. As far as headphones and headset goes, I've always thought the exact opposite. I guess I've just been extremely lucky with my choices. Or extremely UNlucky.

Don't get me wrong, headsets are great, I loved my Roccat Kave for what it was, especially the surround sound for FPS games like BF3. It's just that since I'm quite the audiophile, I wanted something that would provide better quality.

The site will be mindfactory.de

I've started a thread in the Intel motherboard section and they've recommended me the AsRock too. The motherboard is perfect.

Edit: on Newegg it says
2 (x16/0 or x8/x8) on the Asus motherboard
That doesn't support PCIe 3.0 x16 SLI, right? I'm going with a single 660 ti first, if ill need to upgrade, i'll add another one.
