GTX 560ti Twin Frozr II Heat problems. - Page 2

Thread Starter
I'll see what the customer support have to say on the matter, if it all goes south no harm in changing the paste I guess. Cheers guys.

EDIT: Does having a lot of paste really increase the temp by like 20C+?

Not necessary. I don't think there's a manufacturer these days that doesn't allow you to remove the heatsink from your card.

Make sure that the power management mode in NVIDIA Control Panel>3D Settings>Manage 3D settings is set to adaptive. Doing this allows the card to downclock and undervolt when little to no load is there. This can help with your idle temperatures. Also you should just replace the thermal paste yourself.

Double check that both fans are spinning at an equal rate.

I've had several TFii cards and they all have had at least one fan go bad.

This, my other 560ti did the same.

I've just had one card return with a bad fan, and the thermal paste in it is excessive -.-
I mean there's some left on the heat pipe, some on the back 0.0
its as if the person who was mending to it was made of thermal paste. I cleaned off the paste out side, but dare not to open it, have lowered my clocks to a normal 560ti because I lack the courage to apply the whole thermal paste again on the core -_-

air conditioner at 26, 950mhz with 1.0v, 100% stable, upper card - 71c, lower card - 92c. What the hell mad.gif

The Twin Frozr II is honestly the easiest heatsink to change the thermal paste on. A thin line down the center of the heat spreader and screw it back on.

I don't have a sound memory of paste application, the first time, I got pins bent on the CPU -_-
Luckily its running, the second time I applied too much, maybe the third time is the charm?

You have nothing to worry about changing the paste on video cards. Just take your time taking the cooler off and cleaning it...
Good luck!
