Your pinky and thumb should grip on either side up until it flares out, your palm should rest on the rounded part. Your fingers should claw up slightly, but not so much that you aren't using the underside of your fingers to actuate the buttons. You don't use your fingertips with a claw grip, obviously, as that is a different grip style for different mice.
The positioning of the side buttons on the Lachesis are perfectly placed for a claw grip, which is really a givaway to the boomslangs intention.

I have used both and they are not similar in shape at all other than both being ambidextrious. The boomslang is much longer, wider but lower in height and it keeps the same height in all the length of the mouse. The lachesis is not so tall at the front but very tall at the back
