Hello Everyone,
Our wait is over. Newegg has finally received the SAPPHIRE Toxic 7970 GHz Edition 6GB. A pricey $699.99. Just ordered one with overnight delivery, glad I did as the cards are shipping out of California and I live in South Carolina. I should receive it by Tuesday or Wednesday, depends if it ships out today. Look forward to overclocking this BEAST!! I will post pics and benchmark results soon.

As much as I would love this I can't bring myself to spend $700 on this card. With the 7990 looming at around $900-$1000 the price just doesn't seem to fit well. I also don't like the output layout either which kind of leaves the 6gb to be wasted.

But this card is still awesome and anyone lucky enough to get one will love it.

Wow! I knew these were going to be expensive, but not $700, that is just far too close to the 7990 price range. I am hoping the 3GB version comes in soon and is more reasonable, considering you can get two 7970's for about $800 and get 6 free games between the two.

Yes, expensive. The MSI 7970 Lightning came in at $600 at first and the GTX680 lightning is around 600-610. I was expecting the toxic with 6GB Vram to come close to $700. I love the latest and greatest so I had to dig deep. Solid Quality components and a beast cooler.

I hope I receive a nice overclocker. Love to hit 1300Mhz stable on the core. Good news, Newegg shipped it out today, so I will receive it tomorrow (Tuesday). Went on Newegg Business to see how many were left in stock. Had 3 left... Someone else jump in with me!!!

I will wait to see what the 3GB version runs compared to some of the other premium cards out there. Enjoy!

I received my 7970 Toxic today! It does live up to the name. Just ran 5 loops each, 3DMark11 and default Heaven 3.0 benchmark at 1300Mhz Core and a stellar 7400Mhz effective memory speed with 6GB of Vram. Owned a 7970 Lightning and the most I could hit was 1240 Core and 7000 Mhz Eff. During Heaven temps does not go over 70C in my system. Using Sapphires Trixx, settings are 1300 Core, 7400 Memory, Power setting 30, and core voltage 1.225V.

Need to update your rig sig then. Hehe... Nice looking card. Is it 2 slot or 3? I forgot.

Sapphire is taking the Vapor-X brand to another level. This is coming from someone who used to own 2 x HD6870 Vapor-X's. But, why don't they name this beast the Toxic version? Or, it's coming. thinking.gif
