I think AMD should just scrap this card and let Nvidia win the dual GPU crown sinse they already did because AMD is too late to enter this hyper-niche market and focus on releasing the 8990 as the first GPU of the 8000 series so they can get at Nvidia with a significantly more powerful card that consumes less power and newer too.

What I want to know is why people say that the 7990 is irrelevant because it's so incredibly late, but the 660Ti was also incredible late, 7 months!

Lol not really. GTX690 is GTX680 SLI. Even if you make it 4Gb it will not be much better really.

This card is a bit of a joke by now being this late. In any case, I have sworn off dual gpu cards entirely, 2/3 of the ones I've owned had severe issues (one died outright). They might be ok if you keep them stock and don't have space in your case for multi card setups. Otherwise, single cards are far more reliable.

i was actually thinking about getting the 7990 as i wanted something better then my 6990 i had a few months back, but amd took WAY to long, so i bought a gtx690.
Like was does it take them this long to release the 7990, when the 7970 had such a head start, i think the problem is that nvidea wasn't caught off guard this time around like the hd6990 vs gtx590, so amd assumed nvidea would be slower to the show with the gtx690 so they had more time to complete the Ghz models of there 7970, but even still there is no 7990 yet, starting to think they gave up on it and saving it for the 8k series

everyone is saying that the gtx 690 is going to be more powerful than the 7990 because the gtx 680 is better than the 7970, but look back at last generation, the gtx 580 had an advantage over the 6970, but the 6990 was more powerful than the gtx 590. correct me if im wrong, but please, no nvidia fanboy hate comments.
