Phenom 960T vs 965 BE - Page 3

I know what FSB clocking is. But we were all talking about the HT Link, not the HT or FSB.

You need a HT of 2400Mhz to run 1600Mhz. Calculated at 3 times actual RAM speed at 800Mhz. 1333Mhz RAM is 2000Mhz HT.

I've never heard of an AMD with a FSB (or HT) this high, stock is 200, so this must refer to HT Link.

Haven't played with it yet.

Once again, HT link @ 2000.

ETA: OK I admit I rushed it and should've labeled it correctly as HT link in my original post. Fact still stands - OCing the HT LINK rarely seems to produce tangible results.

Absoluty right for any cpu AMD has made up till the FX cpu it really gives a bost to run a high HT link and a lower NB frequancy

Think you have your terminology reversed - high NB frequency and low HT link.

HT link cant exceed NB speed in the majority of cases anyhow.

Fx chips are different. Higher HT link and lower NB Freq.

I had a HT link of 3 - 3.3k and NB of 2500 and it was better results than having 2500nb and ht link of 2250 or less. (2250 was the next step down with a 250fsb i was using)

But depending on the fsb x multi ratio sometimes its better to have equal nb and ht link. Like right now I have 255x18 and cpu/nb and ht link is at 2550mhz and thats where i get the best performance in maxxmem and cinebench and heaven benchmark 3.0
