TFT-LED Or LED?

Thread Starter
So I'm getting a new laptop the ASUS N56VZ but there are two models of it the other one is 100$ cheaper and the only difference between the models are that the cheaper one got TFT-LED and the Display Surface is Matt.

The slightly more expensive model got a LED and a Display Surface called Blank, not sure if that just means there isn't any display surface or if that's a name tongue.gif

Can anyone tell me what the big difference is between TFT-LED and LED? And is it worth just paying the extra 100$ to get LED?

Thank you!

An LED monitor (or laptop screen) is already a TFT LCD with an LED backlight, so there's no real difference in calling it a TFT-LED instead of just LED. Are you able to provide a link to the choices you're seeing? On Asus's website (http://usa.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertainment/N56VZ/#specifications) it looks like there are three screen choices - the cheapest would be the 1366x768 resolution, then there's the 1920x1080 screen, and finally one with wide viewing angles, which probably means it uses a cPVA or e-IPS panel instead of TN.

Its defiantly worth the extra money, not only do you get a nicer panel and higher res, you dont get the god awful ag coating which distorts colours badly.
