you mean... you can't connect that rig to the Internet?

If you can turn that rig on, download an application on another rig, put it on a USB stick/CD/Floppy... and then load it on the rig you want to retrieve the key on.

If you can't even boot the rig.. then, I don't see no way

Here is a utility:

I am doing a fresh install of xp on another computer that doesnt have the internet and i need too get a my cd key off my rig that has windows installed allready, (this computer is also offline) so i can put it on the new rig temporarly .... so is there a way too do it? ( i mean without having too downloadit onto a disk? the problem with putting it on disk is that i only have dvd-rw, and the computer i need it for does not have a dvd drive (regular 56x drive).

You can burn CD's with a DVD burner also Just put in a regular DVD-R, burn it and be happy

what i meant too say is that it only has a cd drive, and i only have dvd-rw cd's

so the drive wont read a dvd, and also i dont have a floppy lying around, i threw them out a few months ago cause i dont ever use them. is there a place in dos too get it from or some where in the control panel? i tried going too "system" in control panel and all it gave me was the computer # and thats it
i know i am being a pest but this really sucks.

Nope... the key won't be retrievable without a special tool, as far I know... Otherwise I would go around campus collecting Windows XP keys

Can't you just hook that rig online for just a moment? or download, burn to DVD, then put the DVD player in the other rig, etc. That should only take a few minutes...

That's just a product ID, in case of trouble shooting. That's not the registration key.
