CM Spawn Firmware help

Thread Starter
So I just got this mouse today and I'm loving the shape and feel of the mouse but I'm not enjoying the software at all frown.gif First the issue with Chrome and the driver software is quite unbelievable in this day and age and I shocked it hasn't been fixed already also I'm having problems with updating the firmware on the mouse. Every time I try to run an updater I get a message saying it has failed and to re plug in the mouse which has no effect on making it work. Anyways I have downloaded their firmware check software to check what version I'm actually on and I can't seem to figure out which number I should be looking at, so if anyone here has an idea please enlighten me thanks.

You sure chrome is closed when running the updater? Is it extracted? Did you use Winrar?

Where did you download the firmware version or are you trying to do it from within the GUI?

What OS are you running?

Thanks for the reply. Yep I made sure Chrome is closed. I have tried both methods of updating using the standalone Updater.exe and the one that's included in the software and both exhibit the same problem. All downloaded from here http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/peripherals/spawn/ and yes all extracted. I'm using Win 7 Professional 64 bit.

This might be the same problem I had with the Sentinel Advanced Z3r0-G Hook it up to a 32 bit system and see if it works. Thats what I had to do, i was freaking out because i had just though I bricked my mouse, but after some reading, I tried the firmware updater on my old XP machine and bam! it works:p

I tried it Windows 7 32 bit still had the same error. Now I've tried the firmware linked by CMCarter got the same error and the mouse is now completely dead..........fantastic

Ok managed to dig out my old laptop that still has a copy of Win XP on it and managed to revive the mouse and load the latest firmware on it. But my God that has taken me 4 hours of messing around just to update the mouse. Your software is a total and utter joke CM. I'm just glad my Quick Fire didn't need any software. I definitely won't be recommending the mouse to anyone in the near future (no matter how much I love the shape) until the software problems are fixed. A big thank you to Pentium4 531 overclocker thumb.gif
