Yes, it was physically modded using the VGA Hotwire solder points. Pics are in my thread here.

I'm a new member (no reputation) and I'm limited to to 2 PM's a day. I have no references here, but I do have good feedback on ebay (cxm05).

I can go $455 (paid thru PayPal). Let me know if you are interested. Send PM (with e-mail so I can reply), or message thru ebay, or just plain e-mail - myeroc@gmail.com)

Apologies if I broke any rules with this post.

So what's this card actually look like after you've done the mod? I don't see any completed pics.

There is a small section of the card where the mod points are. All it looked like was 6 wires soldered to those 6 mod points. The cooler was also off because it was water cooled. Other than that, it looked like any other water cooled card. My volt mod thread that I linked above has pics of what I did, but I don't have any other pics of what it looked like. It wasn't a nest of wires all over the place wink.gif

  2. Second, the understanding that you are voiding your warranty and taking a risk with your shiny new $500+ dollar card, and if you mess it up, don't look at me smile.gif

I started by soldering a different color wire to each of the GPU mod/monitor points, as well as bridging the empty contact pads right below that I mentioned earlier:
450

In your volt mod post, you mention that you needed to remove a resistor to exceed the reference maximum of 1.175V and you seemed to be under the impression that this would void the warranty. A subsequent picture in that post shows the card with the resistor removed. Did you ask ASUS if they consider this to be "damage" to the card? Will ASUS honor the warranty with that resistor removed? Did you put the resistor back on the card?

I'm very interested in the card, but I just want to be absolutely sure of what I would be getting. Do you have any photos of the card's current condition showing all the locations where you had made modifications? If so, that would help a ton. Thanks.

I'll get some current pics up asap, most likely tomorrow. I didn't specifically ask about that resistor when I emailed them, but I'm assuming that with the resistor installed, there wouldn't be any issues.

Sorry about the crappy picture quality, cell phone cam is all I have. First pic still had a little alcohol that didn't evaporate fully yet.
