Are you talking about CPU-Z?  If so, then CPUID is actually the developer's name.

It is indeed free.  Here's the site:

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Their latest version is buggy, so I'll link you to the most recent stable version:

http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.60.1-64bits-en.zip

It shows lots of things.  Browse through it once you open it up (it doesn't have to be installed).

By the way, use the Print Screen key on your keyboard to take screenshots.  You can also use Alt+Print Screen to capture just the active window.

This is easier than taking a photo of your monitor.  wink.gif

Going further, I recommend saving the screenshot using the .PNG format in Microsoft Paint.  Speaking of Paint, if the only reason why you'd ever use Paint is to save screenshots, then do this right now:

  1. Open Microsoft Paint
  2. Shrink that giant white area down to something very small (like, smaller than any screenshot you could ever make)
  3. Close Paint
  4. Click "Don't Save" (or just press the 'N' key)

Now every screenshot you will ever save in Paint will look nice because none of them will have a bunch of white space underneath it and to the right.

It's not buggy for me either, but it is for some people and so therefore I'll never recommend it to anyone because I don't want to take a chance of wasting their time.
