He says ‘It only has 3 out of 4 of the screws that go from the clam shell (to your PC), so he recommends that a 4th screw/bolt or a new set is sorted out, and, that it will need a backing plate for your equipment.

That unit was meant to be used as a 24/7 unit. The controller allows it to turn on your computer once it has dropped down to a certain temperature, usually -25°C or lower so that you don't accidentally fry your computer by booting before the phase is cold with 1.8V. It has the mounting that I was asking about, so Kingpin's backplate, threaded rods, springs and caps, and thumbscrews will be perfect for it.

You can also use the unit without worrying about the controller. If you disconnect the controller, plugging it in (or if there's a switch, using that) should be enough to start it up.

Since you just received it, give it around 24 hours so the gases have time to settle.
