I'm sure the 660ti will be a nice product, but tweaktown's testing methods are questionable at best - and their game suite is far too dated to be taken seriously. I would just like a real comparison to existing 680 products in real world testing for what most people use - 1080p in modern games with anti aliasing.

Fixed. The 7970GE and the 680 are just about equal to each other.

And the 660ti does beat the 7970 in a couple games.

While I am excited to see a card that is supposed to be released in the $200 range perform this well, I have to admit I agree with most of the folks in this thread. It is quite biased to use games that are known to run better on Nvidia hardware, and to use outdated versions of other software as well just exacerbates things.

While im not judging the credibility of the results, I would like to see a more unbiased review. A review with much more modern titles, and updated software. The only reason I could come up with as to why TT would pull a stunt like this, is so they could use some of the previous results they had collected on their current test bed with older GPU's vs the new 660ti. If they had run all their previous reviews with the software versions they used for this review, it would provide a more apples to apples comparison. Although I still cannot ignore the choice in game selection.

^ 660 Ti will be $300 most likely; *possibly $250. The 660 (non-Ti) will be around $200. So it's really nothing special except for the lower power consumption; even going off these numbers it's just 7950 performance at best, for ~$20 cheaper.

How can people come into such conclusions not knowing how much something will cost?

HD 7950 is in a different league compared to GTX 660 Ti. At the same clocks HD 7950 is 3 - 5% slower than HD 7970. HD 7950 OC cards easily run at 1.15 Ghz with voltage tweaking. Some like MSI HD 7950 OC and Sapphire HD 7950 950 Mhz edition use a high quality HD 7970 PCB design. At USD 330 - 350 these cards offer the best price perf . the tweaktown review is of very less value with outdated games and useless game settings.
the GTX 660 Ti is going to perform like GTX 580 with MSAA in demanding games. And the performance scaling with overclocks is not going to be so good because of lower bandwidth.

this review did an awesome job of not doing the tests i am interested in on the gtx 580, which is what i have. so for me, it doesnt compare anything worthwhile.
