Hey guys Im new to "overclock" and It's forums but I'm happy I found It.biggrin.gif

Alright I have a 700 dollar budget and I want your opinions.
Here's a list of questions
1) Overclockable?
2)Eventually can I crossfire If I upgrade parts?
3) Can the card fit in the case?
4) IS the PSU adequate?
5) Able to MAX games like Diablo and play on high for games like BF3?
6) Balanced?

I would diffently wait for Trinity to drop here is the bench on them your game D 2 is in it

Why do you prefer AMD?

Also, are there any other games you want to play?

For the record, Diablo 3 is very, very easy to get max-graphics on, it's not a very challenging game to run at all. For BF3, just get the best graphics card you can afford in your budget. Looks like you're pretty set as is.

I also need this for school work - video editing - photo shop so 4 cores would be nice .
I know an i3 2120 will have a slight advantage.
I plan on playing the entire spectrum of games.
4 cores are also more future proof.

Looks pretty good.

After using a cew corsair cases, I would splurge for the 300R.

What series is the power supply your talking about? I would stay away from CM PSUs because two of mine in the past had issues with the fan, one of those died. Again I buy corsair PSUs now, but I'm sure others have more recommendations on cheaper power supplies that would be sufficient for dual 6870s.

A: He's in the AMD section. B: You have to go AMD on a budget build if you want to overclock

My 6970 only runs D3 at 110fps maxed out 1080p, so not as easy as you would think.

I honestly would not be buying dead end tech this far after they've been replaced. At this point, I wouldn't suggest buying NEW a PII x4 or even a 6870. I'd honestly scour the marketplace here if I had a budget. Putting together a used build with PII and 6870 would cost alot less than $700. Also, as much as BD gets hate, I'd rather have an 8120 over a 965. I've had more than my fair share of AMD builds, but I'd rather gun for BD over PII this late in the game now that the coffin is pretty much shut on the phenom line.
