Not a bad bundle. But I think what most of us like is picking our own parts and building the computer to our style and making it our own.
I may be able to save a hundred bucks by "finding" a way to get windows.

NOOOOOOOOOO.

Take this alternate config:

AMD Phenom II x4 955 95W TDP black edition OEM - $91 shipped [Newegg]

Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus - $20 shipped [Newegg]

ASUS M5A97 - $92 shipped [NCIX]
Samsung 2x4GB DDR3-1600 30nm ICs - $47 shipped [Newegg] also known as "WonderRAM"

Mushkin Chronos 120GB SandForce SATAIII SSD - $90 shipped [NCIX]

NZXT Source 210 - $40 shipped [Amazon]

Rosewill Capstone 650W 80+ Gold Modular - $100 shipped [Newegg]

XFX Radeon 6850 - $140 shipped [NCIX] $15 rebate

Superbiiz 10% off (max $10) BIGBEN - $10 off

Supercombo cost - $607 + $7 shipping - $613 shipped - $15 in rebates

Alternate config cost - $610 shipped - $15 in rebates

$3 less for: an aftermarket heatsink (NOT included in the supercombo!), a far better board, better RAM, better SSD, and equivalent of everything else (including the PSU).

Supercombos are bad....

That's even better than my build. With all that savings, he can upgrade that GFX card of his choosing.

It could be another $19 less with this TD 965 + heatsink deal (noting that you'll still need the Hyper 212 though as the heatsink bundled with this 965 is not 125W TDP ready)
