Best balance between price and features, but a bit more powerful card may be in order if your budget allows.
My own HTPC's GTS 450 is an absurd overkill, but it is powerful enough that i can be running BOINC and watching a bluray without stuttering smile.gif

Yeah. I'm thinking something along the lines of a 5770 or GTS450 or something. If I can find them cheap. Even an 8800gt should be fine for that.

I plan on going micro atx, though. Might even go sff. So, power may be an issue, which is why I went with the 240e.

oh yeah, with 1080p capable gfx am athlon is overkill. heck, a raspberry pi can pull 1080p video with a 700mhz single core arm.

Those cards eat roughly 150w at full load, and i mean BOINC/Furmark load. As long as you get a decent 300-350w PSU (or something like a Silverstone ST45SF or similar) you should be able to feed that rig, as long as you don't overclock.

This is the motherboard I found. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128342

Not the best, but should be fine with a 240e and maybe a 5770, shouldn't it?

I like them, but will it hold a full size graphics card? I also don't really want to go more than $50. I'm willing to go used.

I can get an Antec Aria nsk1300 for $50, but the PSU is proprietary on them. Makes it hard to plan out a build when you can't swap the psu out.
