Was the antenna incident unfortunate? Yes. Was it grounds for a complete recall? No. All it took was using a case ( which most do anyways ) and the problem was fixed. And like you said, it was ackowledged and fixed in later revisions.
Oh my, don't buy Apple for a problem they fixed. Dear god who would want to do that, I mean, no company ever makes mistakes that would just be a mess. rolleyes.gif
You know, you really got me thinking, Dell needs to do a complete recall of their Latitude line for the flaky lid latches. I should get on them about that so I can have my $3,000 4 year old laptop close properly.

Remember when Toyota recalled thousands of cars in the US because of "unintended acceleration" (Which never even happened outside the US despite the cars being the same)?

http://www.irca.org/en-gb/resources/INform/archive/issue29/Extras/Toyotas-recall/
http://www.cardealexpert.com/news-information/auto-news/lexus-rx-unintended-acceleration-recall/

And yet they recalled and took the losses anyway. thumb.gif

If a car company can do that, so should they.
The lies that embody Apple perturb me as much as the next guy, but you need to tell the whole story. That is, an iPhone never had the potential to kill you because of its antenna's flawed design.

They offered bumper cases and extended the date of when you could return the phone if you really wanted. Antenna-gate was really blown out of proportion IMO but you didn't have to keep the phone if it was problematic for you. But as it goes, the iPhone 4 was the best selling phone so I guess it wasn't that big of an issue.
Again, in fairness, Apple didn't offer the bumpers until the class-action lawsuit was settled if memory serves. You have to give both sides of the story. And for a company that touts how things "just work" with their products, it was yet another lie that the company refused to acknowledge. It was not blown out of proportion - if anything, they didn't get enough of a blowback because of all the iSheeple.

so now were are comparing unintended acceleration of a 2500# deadly weapon to a dropped phone call? One is a safety concern, the other is annoying.
This. Though I think "annoying" is an understatement since it made the phone not work, and especially considering how Apple treated those customers.

How's betraying your friends for money not being all about money? If a guy can't take care of his own, closest friends, he doesn't deserve anyone's respect.

This is retarded...

If anyone here has done any form of IT Sales, then you know exactly how greedy Apple is.

Considering, Most apple product cant be purchased through the major distribution Channels like Ingram, techData etc. there are ways to get them but it drive syour margins past acceptable and you cannot make money yourself on the deal.

So Apple has a very Closed door policy when it comes to resellers. Sure you can resell the product, Fat Chance making money off it, your customer will just go to the apple store and get it themselves.

Luckily we only really deal with the Apple Airport Products, which we tend to source from B&H Photo and Amazon, which can be under the Apple MSRP, but usually about the same price Apple will sell it for.

But that is the Major Indicator, they dont give anyone else a chance to makle money by spreading the product, they would rather you lose the business, and they take it direct.

Greedy Company is Greedy

They dont even make a quality product, they make Gimmicks that appeal to Current trends. This = Excellent Strategy to Gain Profit!

Look at ANY Desktop or Laptop that they make.

Spec for Spec compare it to an average HP or Dell, that Apple will be more expensive for the same damn thing, Even Sony doesnt rape the Profit margins as hard as Apple does.................

Once upon a time you could say with Mac product that they were special, not using Intel or AMD Processors, you could charge whatever

but these days, its all the same stuff lol....

This is like when a Normal Guy is called a racist, and he turns around and says, "Im not a racist, I have a black Friend!"

The forum is called pursuit of performance. You can't even customize a mac computer. So what are you crying about? Benchmark the best MBP against a SAGER of the same dollar amount and we'll see whos crying. Of course you won't cry you'll just make up an excuse as to why apple couldn't manufacture a superior product.

Wonder who's the real idiot here?

You do realize that being rich doesn't make you smart right? Being rich , especially in business, typically means you marketed well. You don't even have to have a GOOD product to do it.

Also you double posted and didn't apologize for it. I'm deducting 1 internet for that. You're a regular poster and you know better.
