And one of the only reasons they don't use ips panels is because they aren't thin enough to meet the form factor they're looking for. Although they use some really nice tn panel.

Amazing customer support...

Customer support...

Support....

Apple Fan 1:"Hi my new iPhone 4 keeps dropping signal, what's going on? I heard there was a design defect?"

Apple Customer Support: "Hello there, thanks for buying our new iPhone 4. No the problem is that you're holding the device wrong. You shouldn't hold the device's left hand corner and side at the same time."

AF1: "What the? But that's how you hold every smartphone ever."

ACS: "No, no you are actually just holding it wrong. If you want you can buy a silicon bumper that costs $3 to make for only $29.99. IT will also help protect your phone if you drop it from more than 0.5m. IT has an Apple logo on it and we call it the iCase."

AF1: "WHAT?! That's ridi... hey did you say Apple logo and iCase? How do you want to take my money?"

*6 Months later the problem mysteriously disappears in new builds, after some recalls.*

Apple Fan2: "This Antenna gate thing is stupid trolling of Apple. The problem never existed. Apple simple released a software fix for a hardware problem. See, gone."

Yes, wonderful customer support. Apple are a company truly to be trusted.

Anyone else remember the 1st Gen iPods with batteries that expired just after the warranty?

Bugatti loses money on every Veyron they make, they just truly wanted to make an awesome product just to say they did it. Something Apple wishes it could do.

Absolutely. Any business's aim should be to make money. What matters is how they do it.

No managing director ever thinks "i'm going to use my company to change the world for the better" except charities.

Right because a capitalist company is never there to make money, only good products rolleyes.gif

I also love the way it's the chief designer who is saying that and not the CEO. I'm pretty sure the CEO is thinking the opposite.

When is a business not in it for the money?

Newslasfh.....if you have shareholders, then you definitely are in it for the money.
People are investing into your business for a freaking return. otherwise, it is known as philanthropy.

"Apple just want to make great products"

Then why have A CLOSED ECOSYSTEM WITH PAYWARE, WHY THE FREAKING DRM, WHY THE 30% CUT FROM APP DEVS, WHY THE OVERPRICED BS?

Please.

If they wanted to make great product, they would actually innovate, not innovate to prove a point fiscally.

Why doesn't Apple support drag and drop? Thats a huge innovation, and that was invented in the 70's perfected in the 90's. This is 2012.

Cool products? How backwards is NOT having expandable memory, upgradeable parts....

Ok, i'll stop.

Any person who says that Apple is not in it for the money is drinking Kool Aid by the gallon. With NO sugar.

Nice news setup by the way, looks cool smile.gif

That was a genuinely hilarious post. Not for the money huh? I see. So I guess the prices are just enough to pay the bills?

Fine.
