Plus, you would think Bethesda would leave an OG developer like Id to do things at their own pace.

To be honest, most of Rage's issues were to do with the technology (horrid texture pop-in and unoptimised) along with a terrible story. Lets be honest, the story would have been fleshed out well and truly before the release date and the game went gold. The main failing of Rage didn't have anything to do with ZeniMax. Whoever wrote the story for Rage should be shot and Carmack should be ashamed to make an engine and release a "AAA" product with such horrible texture issues. Those issues with texture popin and id tech 5 should have been fixed before they attempted to ever release a triple-A title using the technology.

So I think we only have id to blame for Rage. Even Carmack admitted recently that Rage was not all it was cracked up to be and he apologised for it.

Lets just hope the issues with id tech 5 are sorted before Doom 4 releases and that id get their backside into gear and give us a truly incredible, scary, atmospheric Doom game that we all want

I'm sure they will have the texture pop-in issues sorted by Doom 4. Being that it was a huge issue in Rage, it would be rather silly of Id to not fix it.

You must hate every game that has ever existed, then. xD

What I don't understand is that, I've played hundreds of hours on FO3 and oblivion across all 3 platforms (played on PS3 and 360 for ages until I got a pc), NV for a couple hundred on PC and Skyrim for 200 or so on PC, but I've never experienced the glitches that I always hear are running rampant through bethesda games.. Guess I must just be lucky.

When I was playing fallout 3, there would be entire months I couldn't get the game to launch or stay running. While I love Fallout 3, that was the most frustration any game has ever put me through.

Also, the physics system in Gamebryo is a non stop source of oddities. In Fallout 3 and Skyrim, walking over small objects causes them to rocket from under your feet at a billion miles per hour, sometimes causing physics related damage to your character. You sink into the terriain and rocks, and placing things on shelves or tables causes them to approximately place, floating above the surface you place them on. Also, there are gameplay and stat bugs or straight up errors. It is sloppy. Its like their physics system isn't acting on the direct geometry, but rather some approximation of it.

Granted it is often just hilarious.

Oh, that sucks, I'm sorry to hear you had so much trouble frown.gif

Haha, I never thought of all the odd physics stuff as glitches, I always quite enjoyed them (the giants for example).

lucky is not even near what you are.
- Events dont start
- stuck in a mountain
- inventory glitch (items dont work as they should)
- companion glitches (some times they dont follow you so you have to wait (T) )
- Etc, EtC, etC

i think Bethesda uses a Murphy Law Glitch Generator or something like that ( if something can turn into a glitch it will be)

Pd: I love Fallout:NV, but sometimes is hard to love it............... i found Skyrim has less glitches than Fallout

Haha now that you mention it, I'm fairly certain I've got some "events don't start" glitches a couple of times. Either had to reload a save or I think I even had to start a new game once.. Wow, I must be wearing nostalgia goggles, I completely forgot about the glitches I've gotten

As for Bethesda, they've never made a game I actually liked, and after seen more than enough videos of heads spinning like the exorcist, characters falling through the ground and what not, I don't plan on buying any Bethesda games until they're released.

The only bug that irritated me in the Stalker series was when the leader of that faction gets sniped in the face, and you can't complete the mission.
