I'm cooling a 2500k @ 4.5ghz 1.35v. Ambient is about 25-30. The pump is plugged into a molex connection. I'm getting idle temps at about 40-45c. Load temps are 70-75 after about 5 minutes....To me, that is awful. I can't even get above 4.5ghz now, because I'm worried 4.6ghz will be like 80c.

I have reseated the H80, replaced the thermalpaste, etc... and it made no difference whatsoever. Why is it so horrible?

H80s pumps arent fast enough and dont have enough water in the loop

Shake your radiator and see if you can hear the air in it. I sent mine back because it wasnt even halfway full

Those temps are somewhat high. I built a new system for my next door neighbor about a year ago and I don't recall the temps being anywhere near that. I got him a 2500K paired with a Hyper 212+ and full load @ 4.4GHz was like 60C.

I got rid of my Antec H20....for air cooler. Phantek PH-TC14PE. It outperforms it by 6c.

Honestly man if you have the money buy all top of the line stuff when it comes to watercooling, it makes a big difference or otherwise you will slowly just upgrade and replace everything in that kit over time, but if moneys an issue check out that starter kit listed above, but honestly rma that h80
