1.) Which VOIP software do you prefer?

A. Mumble

2.) Please explain your answer to question 1.

I've used Vent and Mumble only, so I can't speak for TeamSpeak.  Vent is nice and light-weight, but Mumble is just far better quality in my experience, easier to manage, and more compatible.

I've had too many instances where I have to run Vent as an administrator for it to pick up macro keys on gaming keyboards, even when they are set to emulate a regular key.

Mumble just works better for me from my experience.

3.) Do you have personal experience with all three choices?

B. No

1.) I use all 3 including raidcall.

2.) Teamspeak is the best out of all VoIP choices due to all the features, consistently updated, and it's modern with a polished look. I find raidcall is the second best since it has a good amount of features, simple but modern looking since it still gets updated and all as well as it is free. Ventrilo third best since even though it's basic, it still has some pretty decent functions. Mumble out of them all is my least favorite, but it's cheaper so it's still a good option.

3.) I typically use Teamspeak all day in case somebody in my clan wants to reach me or I decide to go play something with them. I've been using Raidcall all day to either hang out with a clan my friend made, or hang out with with a competitive clan for a game I play. I get on Mumble whenever my friend in APB is on so we can group up and use VoIP for hanging out and communicating easier.

TS sucked. I tried TS2 a few times and wasn't impressed. Everyone that I would use viop conferencing that I know uses vent or skype for smaller groups. Even though it's a bit dated, it's always been reliable. I've never tried mumble.

I voted before I read your post so I didn't realize this was for OCN specific use. Sorry. tongue.gif

1.) Which VOIP software do you prefer?
I have all three VOIP programs installed, but I prefer Mumble over all of them.

2.) Please explain your answer to question 1.
Mumble is low latency. It's fantastic.

3.) Do you have personal experience with all three choices?
Yes, I have spent 1.5+ years with Ventrilo, 2+ years with Teamspeak, and I just started using Mumble a few months ago.

I love mumble. Skype tends to fail in long calls (robot voice?), while mumble just does everything flawlessly.

1.) Which VOIP software do you prefer?

C. Ventrilo (Vent)

2.) Please explain your answer to question 1.

GSM sound quality is great, the program is light on resources, everyone back in cs days used it, I have a lifetime Nationvoice server.

3.) Do you have personal experience with all three choices?

B. No, I've used Teamspeak and thought the codec sounded terrible and the UI was more obtrusive than it needed to be. I have never used mumble.

1.) Which VOIP software do you prefer?
A. Mumble | B. TeamSpeak 3 | C. Ventrilo (Vent)
I have both TS3 and Vent installed, but I tend to prefer vent.

2.) Please explain your answer to question 1.
I have used vent the most, so I may be a little biased. I think it is very user friendly and easy to use.The voice quality is decent, but as always you can pay for better voice.
TS3 does have better voice recognition than vent though...... I use push to talk so it doesnt matter to me.

3.) Do you have personal experience with all three choices?
A. Yes| B. No
I had Mumble installed, I think I used it once, maybe twice and uninstalled it. I dunno, I just wasn't fond of it. I was kind of the same way with TS, but I forced to use it because of raiding tongue.gif
