They can get to 105C without damage, so I suppose 100C would be a fine temperature.

They throttle at 95 though.

Welp, it should have been obvious but I'm a beginner with Intel overclocking. I had the CPU voltage set to Auto in BIOS, even though I could apparently change the voltage in Asus TurboV Evo.

I managed to achieve a comfortable 4.5 GHz overclock that seems stable for 5 hours of Prime 95 (With AVX, suggested by Murlocke)

Obviously I could push it higher but I don't see any need to. Thanks for the advice guys!

Anyways, I'm trying to overclock an i7-3770k that I recently purchased for a custom built rig (~10 days ago).
When overclocked to 4GHz on stock voltage with IntelBurnTest by AgentGOD running, my temperatures get as high as 95C. Ambient temperature is roughly 28C. Idle temperatures are 38C.
Here's a list of my parts:
Intel Core i7-3770K
ASUS P8Z77-V PRO/Thunderbolt
Corsair 16GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz
Cooler Master TPC 812 CPU Heatsink
Crucial M4 SSD 256GB
Sony SATA 24X DVD Burner
Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid 850W
Corsair Vengeance Series C70
GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Core 1280MB

What Bios was on your board? I just got one and it had 0301.
