Keyboard! They are kinda like a SSD, you will never know how much happier you'll be unless you own one. Reds are not that loud unless you pound on them, the more you use it the less you push and the quieter the board becomes. I still kill the space bar, arrow keys, delete, and enter.

This is the one I bought

Gigabyte Aivia Osmium

Thanks for all the input on the minor upgrade guys! I think I have decided I am going to go with both an SSD and mechanical keyboard. I really want to see what all this raid 0 is about and I also really want to try the keyboard. Man I think I am addicted to shopping. drool.gifwubsmiley.gifSHINY! << there that is what happens to me in smileys.

Ok minor update. Got my sleeving started last night a tad. It did not go well to start. . At first I tried to do 1 wire at a time so I could easily keep track of what goes where but that didn't work too well for me. I would pull the sleeve out of the shrink of previously done wires when trying to get the next one out. Did that couple times with failure. Ultimately I ended up pulling every wire and making a little diagram of what goes where. Double, triple, quadruple checked everything. Then I melted some of the sleeve because the heatgun was too high. Had to redo that. smile.gif Then I had the heat gun too low and the sleeve pulled out of the shrink. Had to redo that. smile.gif Then I broke a crimp off a wire so had to completely redo the wire. smile.gif Oh yeah had a couple fray outs on me too! Had to redo that. smile.gif n00b me. So it was not a fun first run but I think I have a good system down now I have it all sorted out and have dialed in the heatgun to a good temp.

I am really happy with the way it is turning out. LutroO is a godsend! Without his videos I would be lost and would not have known how to make it look as nice. especially with all my n00b blunders I think I would have completely butchered this if I wasn't able to watch his video's first.

Before MDPC and after MDPC. biggrin.gif short cable rear intake fan.

Prepping the 24 pin and a little snack for breakfast. biggrin.gif

I'm good to go!

Hoping this will be completely sleeved today.

This is why I on my first sleeve job I did the PSU last. What keyboard are you going with? I'm guessing you are going to use the same SSD.

think the best thing about sleeving a fully modular psu (not done mine) would be you could make your own cables to the lenth you need them and aslong as they go in the right holes on the connectors at both ends should be fine.

when i sleeved all my fans to go to the kaze q i made all the wires to the lenth i would need using the extensions that come with the kaze and a battery soldering iron

Just finished the 24 pin biggrin.gif. I started at 6 am this morning working on it periodically through the day. Sure is a test of patience that thing. Lots of pics to come soon!

I am tempted to go with a Filco Majestouch 2 but I think I am going to go the cheap route with the CoolerMaster QuickFire Rapid Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for my first mechanical. I'll see how I like the blue switches and if not I will try something else in the future. And yes another m4..... as bad as I want a couple Samsung 830 or 840 pro's I just can't justify that.

If you're getting a real keyboard you should check out Ducky's products. I'm on my third Ducky Shine now, two Shine IIs and one Shine I in blacks, and they all still work great. They're also goddamn beautiful, and definitely worth the price. If you're wanting to go cheaper, you should consider getting a TKL, which I can see you were considering, but there are many better options than the CM QFR. I like Filcos, they make quality boards, but there are others like Ducky, Max Keyboards, Deck, Noppoo, Leopold, KBT, WASD, Das, etc. There's a ton of options, you should be sure that you've done a ton of research to make sure that you can get exactly what you want. It's a serious purchase, man.

wubsmiley.gif Thanks. More to come today. Hopefully I can finish up the sleeving but I need to contact master dwood and see where he put the ssd mount in my PSU cover so I can finish my cable management. Did the 8 pin and 24 pin now. 24 was a pita! glad I got that one out of the way. probably going to do the molex and sata power today but maybe not. Might just do the double 6 pin pcie but I am not sure how I want that routed.

I have looked into the Filco for sure. It's my #1 choice but it is quite expensive at over double the price of the CM. And I have been hoping to win a Ducky shine from BGB but no luck so far. tongue.gif Thanks for all the input. I won't rush out and buy one. I will surely do more research and possibly even a trip to the store to sample as many color switches as I can before I purchase.

Here is the only double wire. This is the best I could do. I just might solder them together in the future for a nice clean insert. Far from perfect but it will do for now smile.gif

Ooooooooooh snap? epeen extension! I really don't need an i7 but a very reputable guy from HWC sold this to me for a decent price and reportedly it can do 5.0 @1.4 with acceptable temps. He even had the same mobo as me so let's pray!
