Matrix NEO Korean monitor? - Page 7

Indeed, though the 2nd dead pixel is located about 1.5 inches above the M in the Matrix on the bezel, then about .5 inches to the left, making it a bit more prominent. If I can get a couple of bucks back for bad luck, why not? I won't turn this into an inquisition if they turn down request.

I wish we could get more definitive statements/tests on whether these 220V European adapters are as reliable compared to 110V-220V versions built for the NA power infrastructure. That and a general consensus whether it's okay to power cycle this monitor when not in use instead of just using its built in power-saving/sleep feature. I also wish I had the ability I'd go in and replace all the cheap capacitors with higher quality alternatives. Then i'd do build and code something with an Audrino and feel proud of myself for a good hour till I realize only a dork like me would be impressed with my creation.

Then I'd get sad, take some pain killers, then get happy again over the value proposition of the 27" IPS in front of me.

Again, only to be depressed that not event he gf cares since she claimed the sweat equity i lost in getting a refund on my previous (broken) 27" panel negates the lower base price on these units.

Heh. Units.

So, in a somewhat shocking development, the seller apologized for the two dead pixels on my 'pixel perfect' display and offered to bump the compensation from the $10 USD I asked for to $50. I guess the 2nd dead pixel being located more centrally on the monitor triggered the higher offer.

As I'm not in the mood to go through another return and wait several more weeks for a replacement, I responded that the $50 refund was agreeable to my personhood. I still wonder about the long-term reliability of these monitors, but for $280 shipped I have no complaints now. smile.gif

Well I went ahead and ordered a replacement power adapter... hopefully it works.

I'm not having any power issues at all with my monitors.

Usually when I go afk I turn them off using the power button on the monitor, which works fine.
However running xset dpms force off on Linux works fine too, they go straight into standby mode as they should.
I also got no dead pixels or anything, overall everything went perfectly, and I got 4 of these.

Did anyone get a Customs Duty Notice from DHL?? They want me to pay 18.74 in duties on my monitor purchase. FYI - I live in the USA and purchased from Bigcloth

There should be no duties between USA and S. Korea, pretty sure that's part of our two nations trade agreement.

Got my new power adapter and it works just fine!

So going forward, if anyone else has similar problems (the monitor won't power on or only stays on for a short while, and the light on the power supply is blinking or pulsing), that's probably the reason.

Mine, as far as I can tell now has no dead pixels, and it's clear and bright. I'm very happy with my purchase overall.

Hey man...I am thinking about buying this monitor from the same guy as you. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind :-)

1. Is it a glossy or matte screen?
2. Did you need any special power adapter to use it if you live in the USA
3. What refresh rate can you get to at native res
4. I assume its great for games like BF3

I have a GTX 680 so I hope it would work with my video card. I would get the pixel perfect one myself for $340...Thanks and sorry for so many questions :-)

1) Glossy
2) No, he ships the relevant power adapter depending on what location your in (so it'll work everywhere)
3) 60hz
4) Only really good for gaming if you have a good graphics card. Also note that the monitor only supports 2560x1440 and no lower resolutions, Some games don't support high resolutions and may need to be ran windowed rather than full screen.
