I did this once to a 8800GT luckily after a couple attempts I was able to blind flash the original bios. Boy was I relieved.

You've been told how to do it right..Just make sure you flash the right card..I usually put the bricked card in 1st slot (slot 0)
and working backup in 2nd slot (slot 1)

Can I use my onboard GPU instead? Seems less risky? Dont want to flash the wrong card...

Having trouble creating the bootable usb.... it's late and this is confusing me.

You made it sound very simple yet I'm having issues creating a bootable USB let alone flashing the backup BIOS. This is what I get for rushing into things thinking it would be an easy fix if something went wrong.

Well, I got the USB Flash drive to boot in DOS but I'm not sure which nvflash files to include and how to start the program up in DOS.

I'm now using my onboard GPU and I have my GB GTX 670 installed in the first PCI-E slot. My USB drive is now a bootable Windows ME DOS but I'm not sure which nvflash files to include and or the command prompt to get the program started in DOS. DOS starts with a C: prompt...

that guide someone linked shows you exactly what to do. you copy nvflash etc to the usbkey and then you run nvflash by typing nvflash --index=1 -5 -6 BIOS.ROM (enter)

I created a bootable USB using the guide provided along with the files. I also included my backup ROM as well as nvflash (the one included in the guide and I also tried the newest available) but all I'm getting in DOS is something about the program not being able to run in DOS after I typed, "nvflash --index=1 -5 -6 backup.rom".

did you do this?

2) You'll need to edit the autoexec.bat file on the floppy to make nvflash run on it's own.

Rightclick on the file autoexec.bat on the floppy boot disk or USB and select EDIT (if you can't see the file you may need to enable viewing of system files).

The file should open in notepad by default.
We need to add 1 line after any existing text on a new line; nvflash -4 -5 -6 BIOS.ROM

Note again that 'BIOS.ROM' is just an example, you'll need to change it to whatever your original BIOS is called.
Then click on the 'File' menu and select 'Save', and close notepad

Well I tried the command you gave me and this time it worked BUT, my GTX 670 wasn't found..... I'm hoping it's because I'm using the nvflash files included in the guide which might be an older version? The version included in the guide is v5.100. I tried tossing in the latest version but then DOS complains about nvflash not being able to run in DOS.

BTW, I've enabled view system files but the autoexec file isn't even showing up. This is a pic of the files on my USB. All files are from the guide provided.
