Supporting GPUs so they dont droop?

I am noticing some significant drooping of my Asus 670 TOP and I was wondering if it would be wise to somehow secure the card with fishing line or the like to level it out. Is there a chance for warping of the card over time?

Are you sure the GPU is tightly secured to the case bracket?
keep adding more cards until they support each others weight eliminating any "droopness" and the very last card is supported by the bottom of the case itself. biggrin.gif

they'll bend dude, just make sure its securely mounted with all the screws and then forget about it.thumb.gif

I saw one guy put a small pole going from the bottom of the case up to the GPU to support it because he said it was bending. The pole looked nasty.
Like has been said, make sure mounting screws are tight, motherboard mounting screws too.

its this same reason why I considered buy a case that allows me to mount my mobo flat. (i.e. Tech bench or similar horizontal mobo tray enclosure.)

oh it is secured tightly, if anything i cranked the screws too tight in attempt to straighten it out

Wasn't the fishing line idea put forth in the asus gtx 670 directcuii top thread smile.gif i think that is still the cleanest way to go about adding support.

screw in a blank PCI slot cover to help prop up the gpu from the bottom, so the top gpu bracket rests on the bottom blank bracket
if it's a dual slot card you'll end up using 3 screws
I find that helps alot

i would use the fishing line trick. i have seen 2 card warp and stop working. one was an 8800gts 640mb i think, and a 4870 x2. as they warp it can break the connection to a circuit and cause it to not work anymore.
