noob x6800 question

Thread Starter
Ok...so I have my x6800 multi set to 13 and my vcore to 1.275 (lowest stable). My temps running the two prime small number tortures (one per core) are around 54C...so I am running right around 3.4g Ghz per core stable (not bad)...I havent yet touched the FSB or ram...Therein lies my question...

Does raising the FSB usually require another vcore increase...I am only thinking of raising the FSB by like 25 or 30 mHz...I guess I could just restart and try...I am still running stability tests, or I would...I tried setting tghe multi to 13 and even with 1.38, no good dice and temps off the charts...So I think 13 is where I need to stay...

I would not go 25 or 30 MHz at once. Try something like 3-5 at a time as it will give you a better feel of what needs to be tweaked. Most C2Ds can go pretty far with only minor vcore adjustments, but after a while, you'll need to tweak your Northbridge and other voltages, depending on what options your BIOS has. For a modest overclock, though, a bit more vcore will probably be all you need.
