I also have an FC8 that burned out on me. See attached of the burned out PCB. Had the unit for three weeks. When I first got the unit the first channel did not work. The unit obviously does not work anymore. There was a small "fire" when the thing burned up. Almost took out my computer in the process.

What size fans were you using on this in what configuration?
I had it hooked up to four 120mm fans and two 80 mm fans, nothing special. I had them hooked up on separate channels running at below half-speed. The power draw is nothing special.
The unit never worked properly, the first channel was dead, and the LEDs and fans flickered if you turned it down. I have no problems with the PSU, and hooking up the fans directly to the motherboard or to another FC8 fan controller show no issues.
It's pretty obvious it's a defective unit right out of the box.

Ok just wanted to double check, sometimes we get people trying to hook up a fan from a car radiator and wonder why it nukes the controller.
