Wasn't it gabe who said piracy is just a service, and you need to better that? I think thats why Steam is so successful.

It sucks that devs whine about piracy just to excuse bad decisions. I reckon the problem is the rising cost of game development, and piracy is a good thing to moan about on the side to help increase profits. It's just the easier target. Plus, making some rash statement is good publicity.

Also, what the heck is Dead Trigger?

actually I know for a FACT that the real reason isn't just because of piracy.

First of all most of their revenue comes from the in-game shop which is accessible for people who bought this game.
Obviously a lot of their costumers were very angry about the fact that they had to pay for the game itself when there's an in-game store.

So combine the complains with the fact that pirates can't buy stuff from the in-game store and you get a free game on iOs and Android.
It's as simple as that.
And it's really really lame that they blame piracy for this decision.

Strange, the company I work for has no problem with piracy on iOS. Maybe these guys just need a better game, or a better model for how they charge for their game. 70% of iOS app-store profits come from in-app purchases, so they probably should have made the game free to begin with and just used IAP only.

The problem is their game sucks they wan't to charge for it and require in-app purchases to complete it. Nobody is buying it because Its not worth buying it has nothing to do with piracy

It's just a pathetic excuse. No one wanted to pay for that crap game. I tried it when it became free and it's really not that great. It feels like a cheap arcade shooter. Even if it were pirated by millions, I bet a huge percentage of them immediately uninstalled it.

^ Yeah. I uninstalled it when I realised how IAP based it was. I absolutely hate IAP's and any game that relies on them. I bought Demolition.Inc, instead. Great game!

EDIT:

That and they're all "SUPER TEGRA 3 READY GRAPHICS YO!" on the Play page. I hacked it a little to get the Tegra 3 effects. They run perfectly fine on my phone. They look nice but disappear with each update and they keep trying to make it harder to get them. Duh, my phone supports all those effects!
