Nope i did not overclock it since i am pretty new on overclocking pc and stuff like that. i didn't run any tests on my new system though. since it can run and play games fine the temps are 50c to 65c never hit at 70c though. any recommends ?
your temps are fine if they only go 65 and not over 70

I recommend testing your RIG with
Prime95
3DMark06
3DMark11
Furmark

to see if there are any issues with the rig stability. (if other parts of the comp might be causing it)
If all passed then it's stable.

(see if the screen flicker shows up during the test)

here's more links to peoples that are having problems with this card

some peoples manage to fix the flickering by overclock it or something like that. should i turn on AMD Overdrive ?
Do not Overclock unless you have an OC ed card and you know what settings you would put in...
because even same GPU model can fail on same OC settings, some can be clocked higher than a card with the same model.
anyways if you have decided to give it a try, just don't change the clock that much.

some people say downclocking fixes issues...BUT this is the internet but think of it...why would the manufacterer release a card that needs to be downclocked...it doesnt make any sense.
my card had issues too but a different one (7870 black screen issue)

and about the screen flickering...
do you mean this kind?
if that's the case + having those waves/lines on games...Now I believe that's a hardware problem. it would be best to RMA it. (But insist on a replacement card since your rig is still new)

I don't think it's your monitor because if it is, it should have been contant screen flickering and not only while gaming.

my brother's laptop does screen flicker too but it only flickers once (not multiple screen flicker like in the video)
it only occurs if used for a long period of time. (overheating issue)

about the audio problem...I can't think of anything that are causing it because as you indicated it only appears on games...how audible was it? can it still be heard while gaming?
a sound card might work but not the best and practical solution though.

Ok i will try to get those programs and run some tests. But i just found out something by testing using games. such as Red Faction Guerrila. when i idle in the game without anything on screen moving, the waves screen flickering appear. After i fire a gun, blowing up buildings or making heavy loads actions the waves disappear awhile. which is very strange.

I am not planning to overclock my card yet. since i haven't tested one last thing which is test the card on a DVI monitor. If DVI is still having the same problem i might try to overclock see if the problem still exist. If everything i tried just doesn't works i will return the card. but i am not sure if i can return it back since i am only having this problems in games. Other 7850 owners are experiencing screen flickering when surfing the net with hardware acceleration turn on. but i don't have any of those issue on desktop or surfing the net.

that video doesn't looks like flickering to me, it looks like getting turn off every few secs and turn back on repeat. Mine is different during in gameplay/loading screen and pause screen. waves/lines moving down and up with a little of jumping effect which are easily spotted.
