Hey guys, I've recently been having an issue with my computer. Whenever I'm browsing the web or playing a game, whenever I hit 71% to 72% RAM usage, whatever I'm doing just crashes. If I'm on Chrome, the browser will restart. If I'm on IE, all the tabs will reset. on Minecraft, I'll get an "Out of Memory error." Plus, I'm always getting pop-ups like "Your available memory is low. Please close down the following programs to ensure that you do not lose unsaved data: " and it will list whatever I have open. I have two sticks of DDR1 400 1GB ram in a pre-built e-machine. Is the problem RAM stability?

your OS takes some of the ram up to its probably that other 29% but im not so shure, and your using DDR1 400 (old tech) so I would upgrade soon.
its not the problem is ram stablility but you may just not have enough
minecraft uses java to run, java is a resource sucker (i have an i5-2500K and 16Gb DDR3 and still get high usage warnings)
I would upgrade your desktop

YOU DON'T SAY!
I know I need to upgrade my PC. I've been planning it for a while. It's just that I currently don't have the funds to upgrade. For now, this is my only computer.
This issue only started happening recently, within the past couple of weeks. Before that, I could max out my RAM just fine.

currently allocated: 2045mb
I think I fixed it. My HDD was nearly full (I guess that was screwing up the paging file). I deleted a couple of big files and things seem to work fine now. I have 25 tabs open on Chrome with 91% RAM usage and It's all going smooth.
Thanks for the help guys!

Close, 80gb. It's a pain in the neck, but I'm making do with what I've got for now.
